Thursford Christmas Spectacular (May 2012)
Dominic will be Assistant Musical Director at this year's Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk. The production has a £3m budget and is a three-hour fast moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic fusion of the seasonal and sacred with famous chart topping material being sung alongside tradition carols. It is now generally recognised as being the largest show of its kind in Europe with a cast of 130 professional singers, dancers and musicians.
Piano Brothers at Steinway, Steinway Hall London (Mar 2013)
On March 12 2013, The Piano Brothers perform live to an audience of invited guests at Steinway Hall, London. This is the duo's first live commercial piano outing performing to guests such as Andy Stephens, Mike Dixon and Matthew Fletcher. The Secret Code mix sessions, The Broadway (Dec 2012)
This month, Dominic has completed the mix sessions for 'The Secret Code'. The musical has been composed by Michael Gatton with the book by Jon Rice. Dominic has provided all production, orchestration and vocal arrangements for the work, which was recorded in June at his studio, The Broadway. Click here to find out more about 'The Secret Code'.
TheatreCraft, Royal Opera House (Nov 2012)
Dominic gives his annual lecture to aspiring theatre students at this year's TheatreCraft event at the Royal Opera House. Focussing mainly on musical direction, Dominic works in detail on some repertoire from the musical theatre world. TheatreCraft gives university students an insight into all the aspects of theatre that don't involve performance. www.theatrecraft.org.
Dominic Ferris & Friends, Rotary Charity Gala, All Saints Hove
10th November 2012 - Dominic a charity gala concert in his hometown Brighton, celebrating 100 years of the Rotary Club of Brighton. The concert is in aid of 'Starlight Children's Charity', and profits are being donated to fund to Christmas party at the Royal Sussex Children's Hospital in Brighton. Guests include musical theatre star David Erik, Turkish soprano Tulay Uyar, Indonesian pianist Elwin Hendrijanto and local violist Elliot Corner. The concert also features Brighton Theatre Groups performing excerpts from Miss Saigon and The Sound of Music.
Finding Neverland Press Night. The Curve, Leicester
3rd October 2012 - After several previews, Finding Neverland had it's opening press night at Leicester's 'Curve' Theatre to a standing ovation and positive reviews. The performances will run until 18th October 2012. Click here to watch a prview trailer.
Finding Neverland Rehearsals Begin at Jerwood Space, London
6th August 2012 - Dominic has started rehearsals for a brand new musical, Finding Neverland. The show will rehearse in London until mid-September before moving up to The Curve Theatre in Leicester where the musical will play. Performances are at Leicester Curve from Sept 22-Oct 18.
FInding Neverland Press Launch at The Curve, Leicester
July 2012 - Dominic plays some of the music from 'Finding Neverland' today in Leicester for the show's press launch, with the show's two leads, Julian Ovenden and Rosalie Craig. The musical begins rehearsal in London over August and comes to Leicester in September to begin its run. The production is directed by Rob Ashford, musically directed by David Charles Abell, composed by Scott Frankel and produced by Harvey Weinstein.
